Can I use the after-hours clinic if I'm not a registered patient?

After-hours clinics are for patients registered with the group's doctors. If you're not registered, use our walk-in hours, Health811, urgent care or the ER.

Is KMC open on Sundays?

There are no walk-in hours on Sundays at this time. Call Health811 for advice, or use the 24-hour Urgent Care Centre at Peel Memorial.

Getting care after hours and on weekends

Where to go when your doctor's office is closed, in order of what to try first.

Illness doesn't keep office hours. Here is what to do when you need care in the evening or on a weekend, in the order to try.

1. Your own clinic's evening and Saturday hours

Kennedy Medical Centre has walk-in hours outside the usual workday:

Wednesday until 8:00 PM
Thursday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
Saturday 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM

2. After-hours clinics for registered patients

Our family doctors are part of the Wise Elephant Family Health Organization, a group of physicians who share after-hours coverage for their registered patients. If you are rostered with a KMC doctor, you can use these after-hours clinics.

Call 905-459-4385 for current after-hours clinic times and locations, or ask your doctor at your next visit.

3. Nurse advice at any hour: Health811

Call 811 (TTY 711), 24 hours a day, to speak with a registered nurse. They can help you decide whether you can wait for a regular appointment or should go somewhere tonight.

4. Your pharmacist

Many pharmacies are open evenings and weekends. Ontario pharmacists can assess and prescribe for common minor ailments, such as urinary tract infections, pink eye and allergies.

5. Urgent care, open 24 hours

The Urgent Care Centre at Peel Memorial, 20 Lynch Street, is open around the clock for problems that can't wait but aren't emergencies, like sprains, cuts that may need stitches and high fevers.

6. Emergency: 911 or Brampton Civic Hospital

Call 911 or go to the emergency department at Brampton Civic Hospital, 2100 Bovaird Drive East, for chest pain, trouble breathing, signs of stroke, severe bleeding or a serious injury.

Why registered patients have more options

After-hours clinics run by your own physician group are one of the practical benefits of having a family doctor. If you don't have one yet, Kennedy Medical Centre is accepting new patients. Apply online and our staff will call you within 48 hours.
